OUR STORY

Melody Mai, Founder

With 20+ years of corporate leadership experience in various technology companies, Melody Mai understands what it takes to grow into a leader, from working hard and building self confidence, to collaborating through teamwork, to learning conflict resolution through communication and problem solving, to developing a vision and influencing others towards your vision.  

Without knowing it, all of these leadership skills were already in development as Melody built the foundation for these skills through dance as she grew up, from learning to love herself through dance and quickly becoming the student choreographer in high school, to exploring capoeira in college and leading their operational and performance planning activities, to performing as part of a Bay Area hip hop dance group while establishing her early career days in corporate, to becoming a Zumba® instructor while moving up the corporate ladder leading program management at technology companies.

With two daughters herself, and realizing that our world needs more female leaders and strong role models, Melody is passionate about taking her corporate leadership experience and her love for dance, to teach young girls self-confidence, ambition and teamwork.

With the creation of Mariposa Dance and her new Leadership through Dance™ program, that is now her mission.
