Mariposa Dance presents our 2021 Winter Dance Performance Showcase, featuring two special performances in one day! Tickets sold separately.

• Our Zumba® Kids performance features our youngest dancers from Roy Cloud Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary - Doors Open 2pm / Showtime 2:30pm

• Our Leadership through Dance™ showcase is co-produced with our youth from Roy Cloud Elementary and North Star Academy and features original dance pieces from our students and instructors - Doors Open 6pm / Showtime 6:30pm

It's with much excitement that we have brought our programs back to our local schools in Redwood City and have pulled together this live stage performance for our families and friends this year. We are tremendously proud of ALL of our students, and hope to see you there!

Note that masks will be required for everyone, including our performers. And we will be asking families to organize themselves into "family pods" with empty seats between pods.

I've missed my online dance crew! Who wants to ZUMBA and get SWEATY with me after Thanksgiving? Would love to see you!

And for those of you who've I've had the pleasure to dance with in person every week, I know we don't have classes this week, so I would love to keep us moving...even virtually! Join me if you're available!

New live in-person Zumba sessions are starting up through Redwood City Park & Rec! We’ve got indoor classes in the dance studio (with masks), and outdoor classes at the park at Red Morton and it’s so fun! A new 6-week sessions starts week of November 2nd. Ping me to try a class at the park while we have an active session going on!

After over a year and a half of teaching virtual Zumba, I’ve fully transitioned back to in-person classes. I’ve met some amazing people through my virtual classes, and I hope to be able to offer some “pop-up” classes occasionally to stay connected. In the meantime, join me for my last regularly scheduled Zumba class and let’s get SWEATY!!!

We have had a power outage in my neighborhood since last night. PG&E estimate for resolving it is tonight, so I won’t have power to be able to teach my class today. So sorry! Schedule for Zumba next week will be sent out on Monday.

This is virtual class, so you can do this from the comforts of your own home!

What you’ll need:

• A pair of sticks to make noise with -- Official Pound® Ripstix are not required. However, you can purchase Ripstix from Amazon if interested, OR just bring a set of large wooden spoons for banging! Invisible "air sticks" work just as well! ;)

• Yoga Mat - for the portion of the class where we will be on the floor, and to protect your floors from the banging of our sticks!

• Access to Zoom via a computer or tablet

GENERATION POUND® is a youth-oriented program that fuses movement and music to improve focus, coordination and physical fitness. By combining exercise and interactive activities, kids will learn new ways to explore movement, embrace their creativity and ROCK OUT—ultimately building strength, confidence and self-awareness.

All Rockstars-in-Training are welcomed! Bring a pair of sticks or large wooden spoons to make noise with, OR just bring your imagination and your invisible "Magic Sticks" to ROCK OUT!

ZUMBA® KIDS classes are high energy dance parties packed with specially choreographed, kid-friendly routines and global music that kids love. We focus on inspiring kids to express themselves through music, movement and play, and building their self-confidence while effectively improving their overall health and well-being.

For grades K-4, this 4 Week Session includes a weekly virtual class on Tuesdays @3:00pm PST. And this is our LAST virtual session of the Summer before I start to transition back to in-person classes in schools!

Mariposa Dance, presents SPARK, our first performance showcase co-produced by our Leadership through Dance™ program participants from Roy Cloud Elementary!

About this Event

Leadership is a journey that starts from within. It starts with self-love and self-confidence. It grows with big goals and knowing how to break it down to make it achievable. And it becomes a reality when we know how to work in teams, working through conflicts and solving problems together. It's not an easy journey, but sometimes, all you need is a SPARK. That's what Leadership through Dance™ is all about.

For this group of girls, co-producing a show with their teammates gives them the opportunity to experience and start this journey early on. This performance comes from their heart and takes their growth into leadership to another level, as they show the world what they've created and how they express themselves through dance.

Also featuring special performances from our Zumba® Kids classes!
